Grade 4 – Market Dialogue

The fourth graders are working on a dialogue for the market. They will be heading there next week and they can’t use any English. If they do, they will be fined 2 bolivianos. Students are excited about getting all the items for their Ekeko. They can use the dialogue below to practice at home.

Diálogo – El Mercado Alasitas

A: Hola. Buenos dias.

B: Hola. Buenos dias.

A: Necesito un símbolo del __________ para mi Ekeko. ¿Tienes uno?

B: Sí, por supuesto.

A: ¿Cuánto cuesta?

B: ___ bolivianos para tí.

A: ¡No! ¡Es mucho! ____ bolivanos.

B: Bueno.

A: Bueno. Aquí está el dinero. (hand the money)

B: Gracias.

A: De Nada.

Calaveras de Azúcar – Grade 2

We made our calaveras de azúcar in class today. Students have been studying some of the traditions that go along with Día de los Muertos. They were so excited to use their skills to make these treats. They are made from lots of powdered sugar and butter. Ask your child to describe their calavera using the vocab we’ve been practicing. Take a look at some pictures.

Unfortunately we were unable to have our Gr. 4 Fútbol game today. It began to rain quite hard when we were about to take the field. The game is rescheduled for MONDAY, October 27th. Remind your child to wear Red – 4 Hain or Blue -4 Phelps.

Hola Fourth Graders!!!!

Don’t forget, our fútbol game is tentively scheduled for next Tuesday, 10/22. As long as “hace buen tiempo” we wil be ready to go. Remember 4P – look for blue shirts to wear and 4H – look for red shirts to wear. Here are the commands you need to practice for the game. Have fun and teach your family your fight songs.

Back to School Night – 9/10/08

It was so nice to meet so many of you at Open House. I hope you learned about some of the great things we are learning about in the classroom. I sent a newsletter home before Open House and will send another at the end of the month. Use these to help you understand what your child is saying to you and to better understand what we are doing in class. Use the “¡A Practicar!” sections to practice with your child!
